At last year's WEPACK exhibition in Shanghai, we met a customer from the United States who specializes in manufacturing rubber products. He visited the exhibition with a very clear goal — to find a suitable digital cutting machine to process various rubber and flexible materials, and to replace traditional die cutting and manual cutting methods.
During our conversation at the exhibition, we learned that the customer mainly produces different types of rubber and flexible material products, including sponge rubber, rubber sheets and rolls, padding materials, gaskets and seals, hoses and sleeves, rubber washers, tubes, and rubber cords. These products are widely used in industrial equipment, automotive parts, construction sealing, and vibration damping applications.

Because their company produces many different product sizes and small batch orders, traditional die cutting requires frequent mold making, which leads to high costs and long production cycles. Therefore, they were looking for a digital cutting solution that does not require molds and can quickly switch between different products.
The customer was very well prepared before coming to the exhibition. He brought many different material samples, including sponge rubber in different thicknesses, rubber sheets, gasket materials, rubber rolls, and hose materials. He wanted to test cutting directly at the exhibition and evaluate the cutting quality, accuracy, and cutting speed of the machine.
During the on-site testing process, our engineers selected different tools and cutting parameters according to different materials. For softer sponge rubber materials, the oscillating knife tool ensured smooth edges without burning. For thicker rubber sheets and gasket materials, we adjusted the cutting pressure and oscillation frequency to ensure proper cutting depth and accuracy. For roll materials and flexible materials, the vacuum adsorption table helped fix the materials firmly to ensure cutting precision.
During the testing process, the customer also shared some difficulties they were facing in their production:
